The 4 emotions that take us
away from the Center

There are four main emotions that take us out of the Center: Anger and its opposite, Fear; Sadness and its opposite, Euphoria.

1. Fear
The withdrawal that weakens

Fear throws us out of the Center by projecting us mentally into the future—an uncertain, threatening future where something bad might happen. It pulls us away from present strength and pushes us toward paralysis, constant self-defense, and avoidance of life.
Chūjutsu teaches us to face fear with presence and inner courage. Instead of letting ourselves be paralyzed, we learn to observe fear from the Center, recognizing its origin without identifying with it. With balance and silence, we transform this energy into conscious vigilance and quiet strength. In this way, we remain steady and centered, even in the face of life’s uncertainties and challenges.

Anger
The explosion that breaks

Anger pulls us out of the Center by throwing us outside ourselves, causing us to project energy in an aggressive and reactive way, losing our balance and letting the emotion take control, resulting in destructive impulses.

Chūjutsu teaches us to receive anger with calm and clarity, without allowing it to dominate us. Instead of reacting impulsively, we learn to recognize the emotion and understand its roots from the inner Center. With presence and balance, we transform this energy into constructive strength, cultivating self-awareness and serenity, thus maintaining inner harmony even in situations that could lead to conflict.

3. Sadness
The fall that consumes

Sadness, when deep and prolonged, generates discouragement, loss of energy, and loss of meaning. It drains vitality and pulls us away from the present, leading us to dive into the past or into a sense of lack and emptiness.

Chūjutsu teaches us to embrace sadness with serenity and awareness. Instead of fighting against the emotion, we learn to allow it to manifest without attachment, observing it from the inner Center. Through silence and full presence, we dissolve negative thoughts and find the peace that arises from inner balance. In this way, we transform sadness into learning and strength, keeping ourselves harmonious in the face of life’s challenges.

4. Euphoria
The agitation disguised
as well-being

Euphoria seems positive, but it also takes us out of the Center. It generates excessive excitement, disguised anxiety, and disconnects us from the depth of the present. The mind races, the heart pounds, and we move away from the silent presence that sustains true fullness.

Chūjutsu teaches us to handle euphoria by staying anchored in the Center, without being dominated by excessive emotion. It invites us to observe intense joy with mindful attention, recognizing its fleeting nature. This way, we can enjoy positive energy with clarity and serenity, maintaining inner harmony even in moments of great enthusiasm.

The Return to the Center

When we leave the Center due to fear, anger, sadness, or euphoria, we lose access to our inner wisdom, clarity, and the natural harmony of life. However, Chūjutsu teaches us that it is always possible to return to the Center through meditative practices and energetic movements that restore balance and presence.

Being centered means living in a state of serene Strength, deep Peace, silent Fullness, and vibrational Harmony. It means acting from consciousness rather than reactive emotion. It means maintaining stability even when everything around us is shifting.
